Life Update

Not all that much has been happening since I last updated here, hence things have been rather quiet. I've got my start date for the Met on August 13th, which should mean that I hit the streets in early November - it's a long training process, and we have to do the same course material as the regular officers - as well as hold down a full-time job! Ah well, nobody ever said it would be easy. From what I've heard, the 18 weeks basic training is pretty good fun. The Civil Service are still being very slow - I've been security cleared (at last), but now they're running an immigration check on me to see if I really was white and British when they last saw me.

Me & Sally have been away to Devon for the last couple of weekends - first time around we went to Dartmoor for her birthday with some friends (Naomi, Dave, Pauline & Catherine) which was fun...ended up drinking lots of cider and eating some bloody nice food. The weather was scorchingly hot, so I ended up quite badly sunburned - even after putting cream on. The next weekend was to work for an animal charity that Sally's family are very committed to. We raised a fair wad of cash, and it was an alright day - nothing spectacular. Much preferred the Saturday where we got to laze around on the beaches all day.

Flat hunting is going well - I've decided that I'd like to go back to South East London (my home area) and will probably move to Greenwich next year. Sally's very supportive, and I'll still get to see lots of her. Ealing is okay, but it just isn't home - and I don't feel like I've ever really settled in West London. We'll see how things go over the next few months/years before I decide to move in with anyone - for now, I still need my space and something I can call my own.
